Organic CBD Oil vs. Non-Organic CBD Oil | Why Organic Matters

Image
First of all, the CBD oil industry has developed in the past couple of years. With it also came a plethora of new products, as well as services that are meant to show us the true benefits of CBD in its oil form. However, given that this is such a new industry, how could one determine which type of CBD oil to choose? Or, better said – what should we pay attention to when buying CBD oil and reading its label? In this respect, today we’ll be talking about non-organic and  organic CBD oil, as well as about why organic is the one that truly matters, especially for those who seek CBD oil’s health benefits. Organic CBD Oil As the name implies, organic CBD oil is sourced from hemp plants that are organically grown. You may think that one has to avoid pesticides in order to grow organic hemp plants – but it is not that easy. Organically grown hemp must meet a wide range of FDA criteria, or else it won’t be certified as organic. For example, the hemp must be kept in healthy and cl

Can CBD Boost Your Immune System

Image
Can CBD Boost Your Immune System? You’ve probably heard the term “immune health” tossed around in the health and wellness world. Typically, people use this term to describe products and habits that are supposed to help your immune system stay strong and you stay healthy. One of the newer products that people claim can boost your immune system is CBD oil. CBD oil is still a fairly new product, and we still don’t know very much about its benefits and exactly how it works. However, even with just a handful of studies on CBD, we have found out that CBD and other cannabinoids can influence the immune system to help improve your health. The Endocannabinoid System and Immune System The discovery of the endocannabinoid system (ECS) is still fairly recent, and we are still learning how it works with and inside the body. With the things we have learned, however, we know that the ECS helps establish and maintain homeostasis, or balance, between the various systems in the body. You

This is Your Body on CBD

HUFFPOST By Colleen Travers Colleen Travers You may experience less inflammation. According to Dr. Rahul Khare, founder of  Innovative Express Care  in Chicago, CBD attaches indirectly to cannabinoid receptors in the body (these are responsible for a variety of functions throughout the body such as appetite, pain-sensation, mood, and memory). This process can also help decrease inflammation. In turn, CBD may help reduce chronic pain for some people. “CBD won’t completely take the pain away like morphine would,” Khare said, “but it may decrease it to a point where it makes the pain more tolerable.” A review published in the journal Molecules found that  medications containing CBD from a cannabis plant may be able to enhance a patient’s drug treatment for chronic pain and inflammation conditions . But note: They may work as a complement rather than a replacement to treatment, and one that is very dependent on the preparation, dosage, and formulation. You may feel l

CBD for IBD and Gut Health

Medically reviewed by Elaine K. Luo, MD on August 1, 2019 — Written by Jackie Zimmerman CBD may help symptoms of IBD Around  1.6 million people  in the United States are living with  inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) , which includes conditions like  Crohn’s disease  and  ulcerative colitis . While there are a number of different treatments for IBD, many symptoms like severe abdominal pain, bloody stool, diarrhea, and loss of appetite aren’t completely controlled by available medications. So, people are starting to look elsewhere for relief from IBD symptoms. Many are turning their attention — and hope — toward cannabis products, which include cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). This article will delve into the current research on how CBD may be helpful for people with IBD. CBD may help people manage IBD symptoms A 2018 study out of Israel, which hasn’t yet been published,  found  that  CBD helped people with Crohn’s disease better manage their sympt

How Does CBD Affect Your Libido, and Does It Have a Place in Your Sex Life?

Image
Medically reviewed by Zara Risoldi Cochrane, PharmD, MS, FASCP on June 24, 2019 — Written by Rachel Nall, MSN, CRNA for Healthline Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound found in the cannabis plant. It doesn’t cause the “high” associated with marijuana use.  Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)  is the compound in cannabis that induces that feeling. However, CBD may have other benefits for the body. Because of this, manufacturers have isolated CBD and added it to many products, including those to help you in the bedroom. Purported benefits include boosting libido and increasing lubrication. Is CBD only a buzzword or can it actually help your sex life? Read on to find out what research tells us so far. How does CBD affect libido? To understand how CBD might help your sex life, let’s take it back to how researchers think CBD works on the body. Inside your body are tiny receptors that are part of a whole system scientists call the endocannabinoid system (ECS). Think of these receptor

What Are the Effects of CBD on the Body?

Image
By  Todd Dunsmore for the Observer As with any substance, each body is going to respond to CBD in its own way. Everyone has something called an endocannabinoid system made up of receptors (CB1 and CB2), which are located all over the body. When studies started on cannabinoids, it was found that the body makes a similar substance called endogenous cannabinoids (endocannabinoids). These neurotransmitters affect the body in many different ways; they can regulate pain and even reduce anxiety. The role of endocannabinoids is to promote balance when it comes to mental, physical and emotional health. There is a condition called clinical endocannabinoid deficiency (CECD) that some individuals suffer from. When the body does not create enough endocannabinoids, it can cause serious health problems. A few conditions scientists believe to be associated with CECD are: Multiple sclerosis (MS); Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS); Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); Parkinson’s disease; F
